Hearty Red Bean Chili

Hearty Red Bean Chili

Warm up your Winter nights or bring the tasty flavor of Hearty Bean Chili to a Summer barbeque to kick off any event with an all-time family favorite.  This chili recipe is great for a healthy meal at home or an excellent dish for a Superbowl party.  With all the veggies and protein you could ask for, this recipe is well-balanced.  When used with a few Sriracha Seasoning Stix in a flavor of your choice, you will find that this recipe does not take long to make.  

This recipe can also be made vegan for plant based diets, just skip the cheese but definitely not the Sriracha Seasoning Stix!    


  • 3 Seasoning Stix (Seasoning Stix blends for non-spicy flavor or Sriracha Stix for spicy flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion - white or red
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 3/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes with liquid, chopped
  • 1 (19 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid
  • 1 (11 ounce) can whole kernel corn, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
  • Cheddar or jack cheese on top is optional


  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Saute onions and garlic until tender. Stir in green pepper, red pepper, and celery. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 6 minutes.
  2. Stir in mushrooms, and cook 4 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, kidney beans, and corn. Season with cumin, oregano, and basil, adding 3 Sriracha Stix or Seasoning Stix. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to medium. Cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
